Into Summer With the KRFY Morning Show Weekly Line Up

KRFY morning show This week on the KRFY Morning Show: Tuesday, June 23, listen to the KRFY Morning Show with host Suzy Prez for another edition of Garden Talk. Suzy will be joined by the garden gals Pat Wentworth, coordinator for the Sandpoint Community Garden, and Emily Levine from Red Wheel Barrow Produce. Let’s find out what’s happening in the garden and what to do with all the greens. Listen at 8:00 a.m. at 88.5 to the KRFY Morning Show. Thursday, June 25, join KRFY Morning Show hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey for the Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show. Their guests this week will be Tom Dabrowski and Dave Banister from the Sandpoint Lions who will be talking about the upcoming Fourth of July celebration. Listen at 8:00 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY.

A Full Week of Events YOU Need to Know!

On Tuesday, June 16, KRFY Morning Show hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler talked with Susan Drumheller with the Idaho Conservation League about continuing efforts concerning oil trains traversing our town, plus the upcoming June 24 oil forum. At bottom of the hour, the talk turned to reading and writing with East Bonner County Library Children’s Librarian Suzanne Davis, speaking about the upcoming children’s writing camp.

On Wednesday, June 17, it’s a bonus double-header Morning Show, with host Jim Healey will be conducting two interviews.

At 8:00 a.m. Jim will be interviewing Debbie Love, executive director of the Pend Orielle Arts Council. Debbie will tell about the upcoming ArtWalk that kicks off on this Friday, June 19, and will run through September 11. The artwork of local and regional artists will be displayed in businesses throughout Sandpoint. Learn about the event and enjoy the art of some of the many talented artists in north Idaho.

Then, at 9:00 a.m. Jim gets musical with Dyno Wahl, executive director of the Festival at Sandpoint. Dyno will be talking about the artists who will be performing at this year’s Festival in early August, while Jim airs songs from some of this year’s Festival artists such as Lake Street Dive, Arlo Guthrie, Wilco, Ziggy Marley, Trampled by Turtles, and Vince Gill.

On Thursday, June 18, join KRFY Morning Show hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey. Their guest this week will be Kim Queen from the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce. Listen at 8:00 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY.  At 9 a.m. Jim will interview Patricia Walker-White from the Panida Theater about her upcoming Summer Musical Theater Camp for youngsters that will begin on June 22 and run for two weeks at the theater, finishing with a live performance of the Jungle Book, on stage. Other theater news will also be discussed during this hour-long session.

On Saturday afternoon we enjoyed the talents of some very gifted musicians, live and in person, at the remote studio on First Avenue. An audience gathered and got to hear the lovely melodies of Beth Peterson, and the rollicking country flavor of The Monarch Mt. Band. Many thanks to the musicians and our technical expert, Jesse Gunn of Pinky Haus Studios, for making it all possible.

We are so lucky to have Mr. Jesse Gunn in-house to help perfect the remote studio sound output and set up for all the various music acts coming in all day. Our sincerest thanks for his willingness to help us out and do a perfect job today! Last evening’s power outage was a minor bump in the process. The acts moved out on to the darkened First Avenue sidewalk and the music continued!.
