Calling All Volunteers in the Community . . . We Need You, NOW!

KRFY’s downloading volunteer on Thursday and Friday afternoons is departing on July 5.  KRFY receives some of its programs on feeds from elsewhere. The station depends on volunteers downloading these feeds and putting the programs into Radiologik for air play.

The job involves downloading programs on Thursday and Friday afternoons, mainly programs that air on those evenings.  Not more than half an hour of the volunteer’s time is needed.  No prior skills are needed for this position.  The volunteer will be taught all the necessary skills in order to perform the job successfully.

The station is looking for a single volunteer to download on Thursday and Friday afternoons OR two volunteers, one for each day.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
